A warm welcome to our website; we trust you will find it informative and beneficial to your decision making.
Sharm International British School is the only school within the Sinai area that offers the English curriculum, as well as teaching the Arabic curriculum to Egyptian children.
We are based in Naama Bay, Sharm El Sheikh and have been operating since 2005. Our aim is to deliver high quality education based on the English National Curriculum in a secure and intimate learning environment for the pupils.
The education we provide is designed to teach our pupils to be tolerant, socially responsible and independent, equipping them with the skills needed in a rapidly changing global community. We encourage our pupils to reach their potential and excel through a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
We value positive relationships with parents and others who have an interest in our pupils’ education and seek to include them in our learning community wherever possible. It is our community that challenges pupils to develop as people and excel. Parents play a very important role in the school’s continued development, contributing to many different aspects of school life, and their views are important to us.
The Primary department offers a child-centred and broad integrated Early Years Foundation Course and Primary programme, based on the best practice from the English National Curriculum and other international curricula.
The Secondary department is based on Key Stage 3 followed by IGCSE programmes, enhanced to include Arabic for both native speakers and foreigners.
The Primary and Secondary programmes reflect the international flavour of the school, thereby enhancing potential learning opportunities.
In May 2016, we received official recognition from the British Council and became a Cambridge Associate School.
In September 2016, the final acceptance was received by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and we are now officially licensed to teach the Arabic curriculum to Egyptian pupils.
We have a highly qualified team of teaching staff. Except for our language teachers, they are native English speakers, many of them having extensive experience of teaching in schools in the UK. We also have an excellent team of Egyptian teachers, with European learning assistants and support staff.
If you are a prospective parent who is relocating to Sharm El Sheikh and reading this for the first time, I hope you will arrange to visit the school. I shall be delighted to give you a tour of the school to show you what an exciting centre of learning we have at Sharm International British School.
